Next month on January 20th the Microsoft Developer Conference is coming to NYC to cover various content that was first announced at the PDC. This will be a great day to learn about Windows Azure, Live Mesh, Windows 7, Visual Studio 2010 and much more. If all goes as planned I will be personally speaking on Live Mesh at this event and really look forward on seeing everyone there. For those of us developers addicted to our computers 24/7 and unlucky enough not to have made it to Microsoft PDC 2008 the mood can still be exciting as we do our best to follow the event online and on Twitter. Its really great that Microsoft is making all the sessions available online for free through Channel9 as the week goes on (yes all sessions not just the Keynotes!), this really makes it possible to “be there” when the time or money doesn't let you visit California.
If you didn’t even know that the sessions are being posted online, well...

Today I was very fortunate to see Luke Hoban’s presentation on F# at VSLive NY 2008. I had a small hand in getting Luke into the schedule for this event and am very happy on a good turnout and his excellent presentation. I really have avoided F# until now but am glad to have take the first steps into this new language through today’s superb introduction. Luke mentioned a few key facts about F#’s “coming of age” and I wanted to share them with everyone. No longer just Research First It should be worth saying that F#...
One of the reasons my blog has been quiet lately is me getting ready to present on Developer Tools at VSLive New York. For anyone interested here is the complete info on the session: Abstract Developer Tools: Visual Studio and Beyond Every profession from doctors to carpenters has a “toolkit”. These tools tend to be essential, well known and even a part of the standard training process. In the .NET arena numerous tools exist but are often overlooked by Developers. One very exciting and often overlooked aspect of the Microsoft community in the NY/NJ area is the large number of events such as: User Group Meetings MSDN Events Technical Conferences and much more! These in-person activities don’t just offer great opportunities to learn about technology but they also help build the kind of spirit that is often lost in our hectic day-to-day jobs. If I have learned anything over the last year it would be that with excitement for ones career...
