Today I am excited to announce the official launch of the “Microsoft Cloud Guy” podcast at http://www.MSCloudGuy.com. This podcast is produced and hosted by me independently of Microsoft. This is something that I will be doing in my spare time and hope it will contribute to the cloud technologies conversations. Dmitry, what’s going on? After having some serious issues with Live Writer blog posting using my original choice of BlogEngine.net I have decided to make the switch to Subtext v2.0. I am aware that some images are still broken in the posts I ported and all the comments are gone. I will work over the next few days to restore all this so please be patient and forgive the construction zone feeling. As most of you know I have been working on migrating my blog over to a self-hosted Microsoft.NET powered engine and that moment is finally here.
BlogEngine.NET Subtext 2.0
After looking at a lot of options for blog engines and doing some soul searching I finally settled on BlogEngine.NET (I plan to blog all about the options I looked at later). BE.NET is simple to install, looks clean with its out-of-the-box templates and works greater with Live Writer. I also like the fact that it does not require a SQL Server database to store the blog content and instead uses XML files.
